Thank you for your answers. He was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and his blood sugar is well controlled. He ranges from 100 150. His symptoms of nausea and itching has happened since he was diagnosed. I will talk to the doctor to see if he is having a reaction to the insulin.

Her and I are very close and I want to know everything I can and I know she gets tired of people not understanding so I don't ask. As a medic, I understand what to do and how to treat diabetic emergencies...but I am totally ignorant on what I need to understand is the every day life of a teen living with Type 1 Diabetes and what I can do or not do to help. She stayed home sick last school year a week after I first met her...when I came to check on her we eneded up rushing her to the hospital for diabetic ketoacidosis. I was shocked at the hospital staffs ignorance and everyone seemed to have a different idea of what Diabetes was and how to treat it. I was ashamed of my own ignorance and the fact that I couldn't even change out her infusion line to her pump.I am currently searching for a class that teaches family members and friends about Diabetes. edit Hello?
