Question: Average yearly cost for insulin and diabetic supplies?

Nothing, my insurance pays for all my meds and testing supplies. I have to pay $30.00 for each dr. visit. I have Champva because my husband is on VA disability. (100% disabled)

I take Lantus at night and the cost per month is $166.00 I take Novolog 10 minutes before each meal is 166.00 The needles last me approximately one month 50.00 Test Strips (I use Bayer meter, meter free)100ct 100.00 Lancets, I haven't bought but have a lifetime supply. I get free samples and they are inter- changeable THIS IS MONTHLY

The gross cost without insurance paying (mine pays about 80%) 1. Insulin = 2 btls/ mo. x 12 mos. x $90 = $2200 2. Pump supplies = $3000 3. Test strips = $1300 4. Pump accessories = $100 5. Glucose tablets = $100 6. New pump every 4 years = $7000 Wow, that's a lot.
