Diabetic socks do not help much with swollen ankles. They do in the fact that they are not binding around the top. The diabetic socks are designed so that they do not tighten around the toes and usually do not leave marks on the legs from the top of the sock. Diabetic socks are much more comfortable than regular socks. I recommend getting just black or just navy instead of both. It is hard to match up your socks after laundering. Of course they also have white socks, but I'm sure you can easily pick them out from the black socks. The best thing for swollen ankles is raising your feet on a foot stool. A diuretic can also help. The doctor can also consider changing some of your medications, but if you are having good glucose readings, I wouldn't mess around with changing them./ / |
