Help controlling diabetes?
My dad has been diabetic his whole life, but i am so angry at him because he doesn't exercise, have a special diet , or weigh any of his food, he also eats lots of snacks like crisps and biscuits and lies to his doctor about having problems. his blood sugar gets really low about five times a week and either my mum or me have to feed him glucose, and he never remembers " loosing it" so he thinks that we are lying sometimes he'll hit me or my mum or colapse and he won't even remember. I've tried to tell to him to watch what he eats or go to the doctor but he won't listen to me. How can i convince him that there is a problem? What will hapen to him if he doesn't control his blood sugar? Is it just his diet or could there be something else?please help, avanida won't work he's got type 1 diabetes.
As a relatively healthy 70 year old with controlled diabetes I have noticed lately an occasional heart flutter?
There is no pain, gasping for breath. It's just that I notice it. It is not regular and I sometimes go for several hours without noticing it. I am not impaired in any way because of it that is recognizable to me. Is this something I need to be concerned about. I have a primary care doctor visit scheduled in about ten days and I thought I would bring it to his attention
For people with controlled diabetes, do you still have fatigue no matter what or just when out of control?

Can poorly controlled diabetes effect your period?
Can poorly controlled diabetes effect your period?Over the last few months ive let the control of my diabetes slip, im insulin dependant, some times forget to inject, im a full time mum so very busy as they are all under 5, been diabetic 14 yrs now and this is the 1st time ive let this happen. The main reason for my question is that my periods are as regular as clock work but im a week late, i have the IUD coil fitted and this has never stopped them, trying to rule this out before i go and buy a HPT.Any advice would be great, many thanks
