I am 61 years old and have controlled diabetes. I have itchy brown patches around the middle of my body.?
The patches aren't always itchy. Seems like I had one small one, on my upper hip, for years, and it appeared to be dry skin. It only appeared in the winter and responded to moisturizers. In the last year I have developed probably a dozen or two spots, and still spreading, which itch intensely at times. I had tiinea versicolor a couple of years ago, but this doesn't seem to be the same thing. My family doctor said it looked like something can't remember the medical name that was connected to my blood sugar. My A1C test is always 6.1 or 6.2, but I'm not very careful about my diet, and do eat sugar. My husband was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003 and passed away in 2005, so for the last 5 years I've been under incredible stress. My medications are Elavil, Atarax, Rozerem, Atenolol, Flexeril, Avandia, Metformin, Cymbalta, Prilosec and Mobic. I have Fibromyalgia, arthritis, diabetes and depression. Anyone have any ideas? Can someone tell me how to get rid of it?

Is it possible to feel worn out because of poorly controlled diabetes?
I have diabetes type 1. I've only had it for 11 months now that I had known . Lately since the birth of my son, my diabetes is really out of whack. I can't seem to keep it in normal ranges. The other night I woke up at 2 00am and it was in the teens I almost couldn't make it, I actually had a half pass out reaction before I could get up to get some sugar. That was after a healthy dinner snack and everything before bed. Other days I'll have taken my insulin and it's in the 400's. I try and eay as healthy as I can doing pretty good with that and it's just basically out of control. I'm nursing right now so the only thing I can take is Human Insulin no pills . Lately, I've just felt wiped out and weak. Like my arms and hands are just weak. I feel tired and am having frequent headaches and overall feel pooped. Is this related to the poorly controlled diabetes? I'm not sick and I eat a balanced diet.I haven't been able to sleep well either. Is this diabetes related?
